Dressage - Hunters - Speed - Western
For this season we are offering a new show bill designed to encourage our youth to set goals and challenge
themselves to improve. The Horse Specialty Club has five show dates this year and is open to all youth and 4-H clubs. We are offering a HSC points series for riders who join the series. There will be an awards dinner announced later in the year. There will be Champion and Reserve Champion awards.
The Horse Specialty Club Show series (HSC) is run by the 4-H Horse Specialty Club and is run by its youth members.
Due to the increased size of the show bill the classes will not be moved in the event of rain as there will not be enough time to complete the show. Please come prepared for inclement weather. Arenas alternate between indoor and out door each show (hunter and western alternate).
Florida Helmet rule: While the state 4H has deferred to the counties as to require helmets by all riders the HSC has decided to require helmets for all youth. We apologize for any inconvenience but want our youth to be safe.

Judges:
HSC uses a pool of judges and tries not to use the same judge two years in a row. This is to insure fairness in competition. Every attempt is made to find judges currently judging in their respected discipline. The judges decision is final. We have dedicated judges for each discipline.
The HSC show series is a competition and we encourage all youth to come and hope the goal is to not only win but do their best and learn good sportsmanship in the spirit of competition.

Western Dressage??? What Why, Thin of a technical western riding class. This was started as relayed to me by someone in Gainesville FL. It is ridden as you would a western riding class with a pattern modified from the dressage test. i.e. Lope instead of canter etc. For those who think you are good at western riding this will challenge you. For riders wanting to improve this will help you.
